We have been lucky enough to work with Maloners since their debut show at The Bread Shed last year and they have gone from strength to strength since, playing a host of show in their home city including a big headliner at Manchester Academy 3. The band are set for a massive summer with their debut material ready for launch alongside playing the SoundMate Stage at North Fest.
The young 4-piece hailing from the North West are made up of Mac, Bobby, Isla and Caleb. We’ve had a sneak peak of their debut material and to see such a young band hit the road running with track number one, the world really is their oyster and we are really excited to watch the story of Maloners unfold.
We caught up with Maloners to give you an insight into their musical world and to find out just when you can get your ears around their debut single…
We are really excited to be working with you from the beginning of your journey, so the question everyone wants to know is just when can we expect the debut material from The Maloners?
We’ve been busy working with Tayte at Mad Fox recording our debut single. We’re really looking forward to getting it out to our audience; you definitely will not be dissapointed. A few other things are in the works for the near future, keep your eyes peeled over August and the coming months.
You’ve had a very impressive start to the live music scene in such a small period of time, what’s been your favourite gig so far?
Our favourite gigs differ, but we can all agree that Manchester Academy 3 has been our favourite venue we’ve played to date. Our first time there was special, supporting Afternoon People, and not long after we had the opportunity to play our first headline there, which was amazing.
If you could play at any venue, which venue would that be and why?
Without a doubt, we’d love to play at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. We have seen some of our favourite bands playing in such a beautiful venue and to replicate that as ‘Maloners’ would be unreal.
We’ve been lucky enough to catch you a few times live already and we are in love with your sound, who are the main influences that have helped shape your sound as a band?
We draw inspiration from a plethora of bands and artists, such as The Lathums and Courteeners, but we like to keep our own sound as much as we can, gifting each song it’s own character.
We really are looking forward to helping nurture your future, what are you most excited about now you’ve joined the SoundMate family?
We’re really excited to network with more bands and gain further experience through performing more gigs. We can’t wait to learn more about music industry itself, whilst growing our audience and expanding our knowledge as a band.
The connection when first meeting Maloners was instant and we cannot wait to showcase them over the coming months starting at North Fest which you can still get tickets for here: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Manchester/Anglers-Arms/North-Fest-2022/35915662/
Keep your eyes peeled on their social media channels for the big announcement of their debut single which is due to drop any time now, we are just as excited as the band themselves and can assure you it’s just the beginning of a beautiful journey for the young rock and rollers.
