We are very excited to announce that Failsworth 4-piece ‘The Notion’ have joined the SoundMate roster. After playing on the SoundMate stage at North Fest 2021 they have joined The Haciendas on the roster and both bands have a big announcement breaking tomorrow evening.
The Notion are an indie rock band from Manchester formed by brothers Kyle McCombe (Vocals, Guitar), Dylan McCombe (Lead Guitar), Ethan Goddard (Bass) and Sam Short (Drums). Taking influence from bands such as DMA’s, The Enemy, Oasis and Catfish and the Bottlemen, The band have released four singles to date including their latest single “Crusade” and crowd favourite “Wasting Time” being played on the likes of XS Manchester and BBC Manchester. The Notion have gone on to play gigs in and around Manchester including sold out gigs at AATMA (180 cap) and at Night People (220 cap) in Manchester along with support slots with RATS and Dirty Laces. They fuse anthemic riffs with catchy choruses together to create melodic songs that will stay in your mind and heart forever. They have gained over 28,000 streams on Spotify through self promotion.
Whilst the pandemic has cast a long shadow to the music industry and a strain on live music, The Notion have been building their wall of sound and returned with new single “What Were You Expecting?”, you can listen to their latest single by clicking here.
We will have plenty of news around what is next for The Notion in the coming weeks and months, with some big shows scheduled for 2022 alongside some new music to join their growing collection. Please be sure to follow the boys on all of their social platforms below to keep up with the latest, you don’t want to miss the next announcement…
